1. He gets weird if you pay more attention to his friends than him.
While his feelings for you may be private, his reactions to your behavior will be public whether he likes it or not. This is a sweet gesture that shows he cares about you and wants the best for you. This could also happen in a group setting. Once my class advisor bought a few pizza pies for everyone. We each had a slice and there was one left. A guy I knew insisted that I have the last slice, even though he mentioned earlier how hungry he was. I found out later that he crushed on me. Instead, he’s going to disguise his questions and ask them in a roundabout way. Here are a few examples I’ve heard in the past. He could ask if you’ve gone to any nice dinners recently because he wants restaurant recommendations. If you say yes, he could follow up by asking if the restaurant had romantic vibes or if you went with friends. It sounds like he’s trying to get a feel of the place for his own plans, but he’s actually learning if you’re dating anyone or not. It’s pretty clever and some girls won’t even notice.
5. You get subtle good morning texts from him.

A smile and a “good morning” are cordial, but you can truly tell when someone is really excited to see you. Their eyes light up and they almost glow when they say your name. The key is that they greet you this way, while they simply say hello to everyone else without that same gleam. One of my old friends would basically celebrate every time he saw this girl, Jessie. He eventually told me that he was into Jessie, and it didn’t come as much of a surprise. This exciting moment is the kind of reaction you’ll see whenever you run into a guy who secretly likes you.
