Dating A Shy Guy
So last time I made a video about dating a shy girl, so you know I have to make one about dating a shy guy. Granted, some characteristics do overall lap and that’s just the nature of shy people. So, don’t get too triggered. By the way this is all from personal experiences because I use to be a shy guy. Like very very shy. Today, I think I still am. So, I guess I can talk about it. But anyway, here’s 10 things to know about dating a shy guy.
1. He loves communicating via text
If you see him in person, he could barely get a few sentences in, but when you guys are texting, it’s a totally different story. You get to know more about him just by texting than hanging out with him. Texting allows him to think before he speaks and most likely he’ll be quick about it and can write on going paragraphs just so he gets his point across. 2. Most of the time he’ll be nervous
This is true when starting a new relationship or just meeting new people in general. If you can imagine a normal guy getting nervous talking to a stranger, imagine that of a shy guy. It’s 10 times more nerve wrecking. If it involves a girl, he especially doesn’t want to turn her off but he can’t help it so his best bet is to be quiet at first so he can calm down and get a hold of himself. He doesn’t want to feel that but he can’t control it. If you give him the patient and time to make him feel comfortable, then he’ll slowly come out and be more willing to open up to you.
3. Don’t be afraid to ask questions
To really know the guy, you will need to ask him questions and get him to talk. It’s hard for him to make or start a conversation with girls or people in general because they think you aren’t interested and they don’t want to feel like a bother. Therefore, he goes back to keeping things to himself and wait until people want to talk to him. When you ask him questions, he will definitely be polite about it and answer you. Granted the answers might be short or simple at first, but when you get to know him better, it’ll be longer with more detail. So warm up to him first.
4. Shy guys are pretty sweet
He will care for you, be protective of you, and come up with the most romantic things ever to show you how special you are to him. Like shy girls, they do a lot of listening too. Their attention to detail towards you could be pretty high since they don’t talk much. So, if one day you mentioned something about getting that specialty pizza, he might just end up surprising you with that pizza. Now that’s thoughtful.
5. He could be logical and practical
Some shy guys can be pretty logical and practical. The reason is because shy guys listen a lot so they might have a different approach or perspective of things that you can’t see or find. In some cases, you can say they are also pretty smart on certain topics whether it’s academics, comics, or going on full geek or nerd mode on a Sci-Fi subject.
6. Actions speak louder than words
Shy guys might not tell you right away how they feel about you or what’s going on in their mind but their behaviors or actions will speak for them. Is he laughing at your jokes? Does he stop whatever he’s doing just to listen to you? Does he randomly surprise you with a gift? Pay attention to his body language and you’ll see how much he cares. But of course, the eye contact thing might take some time to get it to work.
7. They crave attention
I’m not saying they like being put under the spot light or have a room full of people looking at him. The attention I’m talking about is the one-on-one attention or that knowing someone cares about him. Someone who’s willing to talk to him and know that he has a friend that will be there for him when he needs it. They want to be a part of something and not be alone.
8. He knows when he’s in the wrong
Shy guys don’t like to bother people or make people angry or mad. They are calm and tend to avoid a lot of things. If they made a mistake on something or feel like they shouldn’t be there, they’ll apologize or excuse himself from the situation. But that doesn’t mean they won’t stand up for themselves. If they care about something that aligns with their interest, they’ll do their best to protect it. He likes you.
9. They are pretty loyal
Since you know some shy guys aren’t initially good with girls or people and when they do find someone they like and they eventually get along, that relationship might last longer than you think. When he finds someone he likes, he is more likely to care for them and even take various measure to keep the relationship going because at the end of the day, losing the person that he likes will break his heart. And this isn’t just only for shy guys. This could happen to shy girls or anyone who is caring.
10. You’re probably shy too
Deep down inside, you like him because you are shy yourself. After getting pass the initial stage of knowing each other, it’s okay just to enjoy each other’s company without having to talk all the time. It’s the best feeling you could probably get if you’re comfortable together in peace and silence. It’s also a way where you both can recharge after a long day of working or studying.
Overall, if you’re shy and you like this shy guy or with a shy guy, let’s try to make things happen because shy couples are pretty cute. Well, at least that’s what I think. They complement each other really well and one doesn’t overpower or overwhelm the other. And if you guys can get pass the initial stage of getting to know each other better and actually talk, then you might have just found yourself the one and a very good partner.
